Do your enclosures come painted?

How does a Bassforms fiberglass enclosure sound?
Our enclosures are designed to enhance bass response and SPL. This is done in two ways: design and rock solid construction. The round design of our enclosures helps to eliminate standing wave distortion, which can affect bass response and sound quality. By design, our enclosures have fewer seams than wood enclosures, which greatly reduce the chance for air leaks. Furthermore, our enclosures are constructed of solid fiberglass, which creates a very strong and rigid enclosure that will not flex or resonate. Also, our enclosures are extremely thick (by fiberglass standards), and have a very high fiberglass-resin ratio, which further creates a strong and dense enclosure.
FAQ: How do I mount speakers in Bassforms fiberglass enclosures?
Mounting subwoofers in Bassforms enclosures is very similar to mounting subs in wood enclosures. This method will allow the subwoofer to be taken out easily for service without stripping out the mounting holes. A drill will be required to pre-drill the mounting holes.
VERY IMPORTANT: Never use drywall screws or other screws designed for wood applications as these screws may break and damage the gel coat finish!Non-painted enclosures come in a ready-to-paint gel coat and can be color-matched to your vehicle’s interior or exterior. Thus we recommend you take it to a professional body shop to have the enclosures match the exterior and make sure the enclosures are prepped, primed, and painted correctly.
FAQ: Will fiberglass parts crack or break easily?
Not all fiberglass products are constructed with durability. The answer is NO, unless they are manufactured using poor quality materials and are not built to hold up for the long haul. We recently began working with a nearby fiberglass race car body manufacturer to ensure that our fiberglass manufacturing process was of the utmost quality. At this point, we are effectively emulating their manufacturing setup, and the enclosures we make are assuredly being built to hold up for lifetime. It is wise to research manufacturing procedures before making a purchase. Bassforms offers lifetime warranty.
