| CHARGES TO YOUR
CREDIT CARD: HOW IT WORKS Processing Credit Card
charges over our Secure Server is a 2 step process: 1)Authorizing Charges
2)Settling Charges
When you submit your Credit Card data, we automatically
authorize charges on your account.
This serves 3 purposes:
- It determines whether the card # you submitted is that
of a valid credit card
- It helps authenticate whether you are the actual owner
of a valid card
- It reserves funds that are available as part of
your credit limit
For example, if you had $500 available credit, and $300 of
that amount was AUTHORIZED, you would have a $300 reduction in the amount of
credit left available to you, or $200.
However, AUTHORIZING a charge does not yet mean you will
be billed for the charge. One more step, SETTLING THE CHARGES, must occur.
Settling is the actual
transfer of funds from you to us.
Pertaining to our "Meet It or Beat It" Policy:
We do not settle the charges until we have determined that we WILL
meet or beat the price you submitted.
Your submission WILL RESULT IN
AUTHORIZATION of charges automatically
This WILL RESULT in removing the amount authorized from your available
credit
This MAY RESULT in showing activity in your credit account, as viewed online
or by phone
It DOES NOT result in an actual transfer of funds from you to us
If your sale is authorized, but not settled, no charges will appear
on the bill from your Credit Card Company that you receive in the mail,
despite the appearance of authorization activity on your online or
phone account
