When shopping for car audio speakers, many are shocked when they realize the variety of brands and types of speakers available. So the typical question is: "What are the Best car audio speakers on the market?"

Generally speaking, if you ask 100 people this question, you might get as many different answers. The best speakers for one person's vehicle might be totally different then for another's. So it is really better to start shopping in a general sense at first.

For argument sake, lets break down the general price ranges of speakers. Those costing from $20 to $100 a pair usually will perform quite well being driven by a simple head unit which has power for speaker outputs. Check your source unit and see if it is amplified. Generally speaking, some speakers from Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood, Boss, Blaupunkt, Boston Acoustics, Infinity, JBL, JVC, Lanzar, Pyle, Pyramid, and Sony will present decent sound directly from the head unit which means an easier install and you'll save the cost of an amplifier.

When you get into brands like Alpine, CDT, Diamond, Eclipse, Focal, Image Dynamics, Infinity Kappa, JL Audio, Kicker, MB Quart, MTX, Polk, you will find they perform better if powered by a separate amplifier. 

From decades of feedback from customers, I can say that if you want the best sounding speakers available, try the MB Quart, Focal or CDT Audio lines if your budget will allow.  Most would agree that Alpine, Diamond, Eclipse, Polk and JL Audio will run a close second.  Kicker and Rockford Fosgate are always favorites as well.  If you have not been able to listen to a certain speaker you are considering, be sure to search out your speaker reviews online to get an idea of what real users think.
